So just what's happening?

September 2, 2010 - Bob Rolley

I write to all of you in cyberspace to unbashedly promote The Express community newspaper's upcoming Fall Harvest Cooking Show. We do it ourselves - venue set up, food prep, serving and working with our wonderful vendors. The Sept.  8 show in the reception hall at Castanea Picnic Grounds next to Piper Memorial Airport is sold out, yes, SOLD OUT! Sorry, but if you didn't buy a $15 reserved seat or $10 general admission ticket, you missed out on a chance to win a prize  among the $3,000-plus worth of prizes that will be awarded. The grand prize is a new dishwasher! We moved the venue from the Elks because we just needed more space for our wonderful patrons!  But there are bags of groceries, a weekend at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, gift certificates, more gift certificates, more....you get the idea. We're delighted to have chef Robert Noble grace our stage and cook up some delicious meals. It will be quite the night and a lot of fun. I'm sure I missed mentioning something special, but you'll just have to wait until it's "show time." See you then!
